the closer we are to the Light, the easier it is to see all the dirty littly corners

honestly, so much of what we do is self centered and we dont even realize it, ya know? just stupid little things, and slowly, God reveals these things to us so that we can change and become more and more like Him, but the closer we grow to God, its like, the more sin is noticable in every area of our lives

the closer we are to the light, the more exposed we are.
and this is good! its not a bad thing to see things that are sin. its good because that means that:1. even all of that, ALL of that, God has forgiven. man we are sinful people, and God has already paid the price for all of it!Hebrews 7:(whole chapter, mainly 11-end, specifically verse 25) 25 Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save everyone who comes to God through him. He lives forever to plead with God on their behalf. (NLT)-note, ESV is good on this specific verse, but to have the context laid out in an easily understood manner, NLT works wonders
and
2. it shows us areas that we can work on, with the help of Christ, to grow even closer to God and to the person He wants us to be 1 John 4:4b ...because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.Philippians 1:6 And I am sure that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on that day when Christ Jesus comes back again.
this by no means means that we can grovel in our wretchedness and depravity of our sinful nature or wallow in self pity or slough through and indulge in our sinfulness, by no means! but! this does mean that we can all the better see the glory and wonder and perfection of God becaues He is withOUT sin. because there is no darkness in Him (1 John 1:5) we can have joy and peace and grow closer to understand and to the knowledge of who God really is that although He is, was, and forever will be without sin, He still gave Himself up to reconcile us to Himself! THAT is who God IS!
the knowledge of our sin is not just there to show us that we are sinful, but that God is without sin and therefore, He IS greater! So much greater and so much more worthy of our love and affection and dedication and time and everything else.
instead, in the knowledge of our sin, we can bask in the glory of who He is and we can see the grace and redemption and love and joy and peace He gives us all the more clearly. And if that doesnt create in us a desire to share Him and His words, then dude, what should man? certainly not a sense of obligation. certainly it should come from the realness of God is us and the realization all the more of what He has done, is doing, and will continue until the day of Christ Jesus.
yes. the end.

I'm so glad life's not up to me

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Philippians 4:6 Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 If you do this, you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

James 1:5 If you need wisdom – if you want to know what God wants you to do – ask him, and he will gladly tell you. He will not resent your asking. 6 But when you ask him, be sure that you really expect him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.

James 4:13 Look here, you people who say, "Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit." 14 How do you know what will happen tomorrow? For your life is like the morning fog – it's here a little while, then it's gone. 15 What you ought to say is, "If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that." 16 Otherwise you will be boasting about your own plans, and all such boasting is evil. 17 Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.

Proverbs 16:9 We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps.

Oh to have this said of me!

"They say there is a young lady in [New Haven] who is loved of that Great Being, who made and rules this world, and that there are certain seasons in which this Great Being, in some way or other invisible, comes to her and fills her mind with exceeding sweet delight; and that she hardly cares for anything except to meditate on Him.... [Y]ou could not persuade her to do any thing wrong or sinful, if you would give her all the world, lest she should offend this Great Being. She is of a wonderful sweetness, calmness, and universal benevolence of mind; especially after this Great God has manifested himself to her mind. She will sometimes go about from place to place, singing sweetly; and seems to be always full of joy and pleasure.... She loves to be alone, walking in the fields and groves, and seems to have some one invisible always conversing with her."
